These beautiful spiral earrings are a slightly modernized version of typical hill tribe spiral jewelry - eternal spiral is a motif that represents the never-ending cycle of life and is commonly used by the tribe people of greater Mekong region. They are made of 2.5 mm thick silver strip, tightly rolled into a spiral, silver posts are soldered at the back. Stoppers are in sterling silver. The Karen are a group of ethnic peoples who reside primarily in southern and southeastern Burma and in northern and north-eastern Thailand. Thai and Burmese hill tribes can be traced back to the 12th century when they are said to have originated from Tibet.With a higher silver content than sterling silver, Karen silver has a weight, bright satin color and feel, all of its own.
