Meet the Artisan: Inisha Creation

Arpita was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan, also known as ‘The Pink City of India’ (*). She is the founder of Inisha Creation. Her collection is ethically handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver with multiple gemstones: blue topaz, black onyx, purple amethyst and labradorite.

What made you become an artisan?

I always had the dream of becoming a jewelry designer, I have studied and followed courses in the field. It wasn't something I have planned for, it’s my legacy as my father is a silversmith. He has been my teacher, my guide and inspiration. Along the way, I’ve met some other jewelry artisans and we started making it together. That’s how I opened my store.

Can you tell me how your work is?

I have a small workshop with 3 jewelry artisans. All our work is original and handcrafted. Occasionally, we also take up custom orders.

What is the inspiration behind your collection?

I’m from Jaipur and this city is well-known for its jewelry craftsmanship. I follow market trends, traditional designs, and I personally love colorful gemstones: their colors, textures, and the myths associated are fascinating. I take all this into place when the creation process starts.

What are the key elements of your style of work?

We usually make our own designs and sometimes take some custom orders, depending on our customer requirements. Their feedback and suggestions are key for us to improve our service and products.

What are your work ethical values?

We are committed to offer quality jewelry. Our designs must be original, unique and traditional. We believe in fair pay, fulfillment and commitment to our customers.

How does your work impact the lives of the artisans that work with you?

I always make sure my artisans are well-paid and enjoy what they do. They are happy to be considered part of the family.

What do you love about being an artisan?

I have been working as a jewelry designer for many years now. I believe in long-term… It’s a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do this, have my own workshop and here I am, also helping other artisans to be part of a family by working together.
