Eri also known as ahimsa silk, in which no silk worms are harmed and Muga is the golden silk yarn of Assam which is one of the premium silk of India. In eri, carefully delicate yarns are spun out of open ended cocoon of caterpillar  Samia Cynthia Ricini. It has its origin in Assam but also spun in other states of North east.
