This necklace is handmade by Thai artisans in 95-98% Silver. The woven cubes are made with traditional silver handcraft techniques, inspired by Thai traditional banana leaf folding pattern. The string is composed of simple tube silver parts and the chain closes with the so-called "bird beak" closing hook.

Our products are Handcrafted in 95-98% Silver by Thai Karen hill-tribe artisans by means of traditional tools and techniques. The Karen are a group of ethnic peoples who reside primarily in southern and southeastern Burma and in northern and north-eastern Thailand. Thai and Burmese hill tribes can be traced back to the 12th century when they are said to have originated from Tibet.

With a higher silver content than sterling silver, Karen silver has a weight, bright satin color and feel, all of its own. Every piece is handmade and individual.

Selling through Discovered creates more income for artisans. They can set the price they want to receive for the products themselves. By cutting out all middlemen, artisans receive at least 20% more for their products. This is what we call fairer trade.
