Handwoven with Eri silk, also called Ahimsa silk, this stole is woven by local women from the villages of Assam. Eri silk is often referred to as the Ahimsa silk as the process does not involve the killing of the silk worm. Moths leave the cocoon as soon as it is ready to be spun. The silkworm grows in the wild on trees, unlike the mulberry silk whose worm is bred in captivity feeding on mulberry leaves. Due to its thermal property, it is warm in winters and cool in summer.
This Dupatta is then hand embroidered in kantha on a beautiful paisley motif. The stole can be combined with any attire. You can wrap it around the neck or leave it over shoulders to create a different look every day.
